If the note ceases to be legal tender and i'll need to exchange it, i'll feel really bad that i have to give away lots of my old, diverse, unique notes (even if i were to get 500 euros in new notes, i can't get back my past collection back with that and i'm stuck with loads of travel money), while if the note will stay legal tender it's all
They do still exist and are valid, they just stopped printing them in the new series. (100 euro). I only held a 200 euro note in my hand once, 500 never.
I got paid about 5000 euros in 500 euro notes a few years ago. Didn't ever try to spend them in Italy where I got them.
