Tuf Voyaging by George R.R Martin. I should say that I'm not a big sci-fi guy. The last one that I read and enjoyed was the Price of Milk by Exurb1a, as well as The Fifth Science which wasn't as good IMO. Also the Familiar by Mark Z.
